The daughter of the late Isaac and Sophie Fabian, she was predeceased by her husband Meyer Joseph Tertes in 1960 and her husband Joseph Blume in 1990. Lill is survived by her sons, Elliott D. Tertes and his wife, Carolyn (Quint) Tertes of Hartford, Daniel Blume and his wife Joanne (Shapiro) Blume of West Hartford, and Gerald Blume of Los Angeles, her grandchildren, Michael Tertes and his wife, Julie Emden, Andrew Tertes and his wife, Shoshana Gugenheim, and Gregory and Rachel (Hurt) Tertes, Jared and Renee (Sawyer) Blume, Stephanie Blume, Michelle Carreker, and Karen Rosenbloom, five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Ann Rosenberg Fabian of West Hartford. She was predeceased by her brothers Jack Fabian, Louis Fabian, and Morris Fabian, her daughter-in-law Velma Blume and granddaughter Meredith Blume. Lill had a long and rich life and leaves glorious memories. After graduating from Hartford High she went to work at the Aetna Life Insurance where she rose to supervisor and trained a number of men in the audit process who ultimately rose to become top executives. Lillian, like her father and brothers, read voraciously. She could talk on any subject and loved to tell stories. Lill didn't know the meaning of "No" if asked to go on an adventure or help a friend. The answer was always, "Sure". This positive attitude made her a role model and mentor to many. Lil enjoyed art, theater, music and traveled the world. With all that, most important was her family! The family would like to thank the Hebrew Health Care and Hospice Angels. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15 in the Chapel at Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave, Hartford with Rabbi Deborah Cantor officiating with burial in Share Torah Cemetery, Tower Avenue, Hartford. Shiva will be observed at the home of Elliott and Carolyn Tertes Tuesday following the funeral, Wednesday and Thursday evening. To celebrate Lillian's life we suggest contributions to Congregation. B'Nai Sholom, 26 Church St, Newington or Hebrew Health Care, 1 Abrahms Blvd, West Hartford. May her memory be a blessing. For further information, directions or to share memories of Lillian go to
