Ruth-Ann (Bernstein) Brofsky
Ruth-Ann (Bernstein) Brofsky, 49, of Lawler Road, West Hartford, wife of David C. Brofsky, died Wednesday, December 26, 2007. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of Joseph and Marcia (Sameth) Bernstein of Somers, NY. A graduate of Marymount College, Tarrytown, NY, she received her Masters in Education and taught kindergarten and nursery school in Ardsley, NY, New Britain, and at the Jewish Community Centers in West Hartford and Glastonbury. She was a member of Temple Sinai, Newington. Besides her husband and parents, she leaves a son, Alexander Gordon Brofsky, two daughters, Nina Rachel Brofsky and Hannah Isabel Brofsky, a brother, Daniel Bernstein and his wife Cheryl and their children Samuel and Andrew of Scarsdale, NY; her in-laws Herbert & Ruth Brofsky of Delray Beach, FL; brother-in-law Marc Brofsky and his wife Jill, and their children, Jeremy, Jessica and Jordan of Wayland, MA; sister-in-law, Anne Kupferschmid and her husband Geoff and their children, Daniel and Rachel of Somers, NY, and sister-in-law Amy Passman and her husband Mark and their children Zachary and Jonathan of Ridgefield. Funeral services will be held TODAY, Friday, December 28, 2007, at 1:00 PM at Temple Sinai, 41 West Hartford Rd., Newington, with Rabbi Jeffrey Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in Temple Sinai Memorial Park, Newington. A memorial period will be observed at her home, 131 Lawler Rd., West Hartford Saturday evening through Monday evening.
