Message: Millie was my only Aunt. I loved the holiday cookies she baked and shared with me in round metal tins even after I moved out on my own. I loved the cedars that she invited us to when she lived in Washington DC. I loved the stories she would tell me about my father's family; my father when she was dating Peter; and about the times when she was growing up in Brighton Beach and after graduating from college. One of my favorite stories was about the time she went to camp when her brother was too sick to go - and she had to pretend she was a boy. I also loved her patient and persistent spirit to do what was right and to improve the lives of the people she touched in the library and at the Children's Hospital in Washington D.C. My life was greatly improved by Millie, and I will always hold a fond place in my heart for her.
