Message: We were so sorry to hear about Doris's passing. I remember many wonderful times with Jed and family at Crescent Beach and in West Hartford. I can picture the family in the great room of your beach house. It is a blessing to spend one's life with dear family and friends in a place that one loves. We send our deepest sympathy and caring, and we regret that Jonathan's MIT teaching obligations prevent us from joining you. Love, Jonathan and Marsha Byrnes

Message: Iris. I just read your Mom’s obituary. I had no idea she passed away last year. Doris and Natalie spoke every morning as friends for decades and decades. Your mom’s warm smile, special voice and genuine heart will always be in my mind. Even after Natalie died, I’d visit with your mom when I came into town. These two women exemplified what dear friendship means. I’m so sorry and wished I knew sooner about Doris’ passing. Ann Cohan
