Message: Joel was a funny, kind man and a good friend. He encouraged me pretty much daily when I worked at the drugstore, and in later years as well. We went to NYC to listen to Lotte Lenya - a shared love - and we talked photography often, my work and his. He and Carol fed me occasionally and were with my friends, and I knew Ira and Rae from when they were born. I will always remember him fondly.
