Message: To me, Uncle Wally was always bigger than life. Whether he was giving me a tour of the blast furnaces at the scrap yard or picking wild raspberries for breakfast at his cabin in Vermont, his intelligence, kindness and humility showed through. He was an uncle, a role model, a friend and I will miss him.

Message: Having come into Walter's life through Kelley and her work on the Board of Directors of Cambodian Living Arts (CLA), I'll always remember Walter's supportiveness of Kelley's commitment to CLA and Cambodia. Walter's interest in Kelley's interest, and his forbearance for all the hours and days Kelley spent for CLA, was enduring. Walter even came in his mid 80's with Kelley to Cambodia. A real journey of love. Walter and I had Pittsburgh and Nantucket in our backgrounds as a common tie. Last week, I went with three Cambodian musicians to St. John the Devine in New York City, where they played a rare form of Cambodian mourning music in Walter's honor.

Message: Dear Bonn family: I wish to convey my sincerest condolences to your entire family. Losing a loved one in death is one is one of the hardest things that anyone will ever have to deal with. There is a great hope held out to us for the future because God promises to bring those we lost back to life by means of a resurrection to a paradise earth, where sickness and death will be no more. I hope this brief message will bring you a measure of comfort in this difficult time.

Message: Wally Bonn & Bob Frankel were my two best friends growing up in the Squirrel Hill district of Pittsburgh, PA. Wally's family lived on Inverness St., Bob's two houses from ours around the corner on Fair Oaks. My cousin, Lois Hertz (Lessser) lived between us at the corner of Inverness and Fair Oaks. Wally, Bob and Lois and her girl friends met almost daily on our bicycles growing up until college days away. I have wonderful memories of Wally, who remained a close friend up until his death.
