Message: Dear Betsy and Sara, So sorry to hear of your mother's passing. We were such good friends since second grade, both in Vance School and B'nai Israel Hebrew School--so many years ago. Where have the years gone?? I thought something was wrong when I didn't receive a birthday card from her last week, the first time in many, many years. My first trip to NYC, by self, was to visit her at NYU. My fondest regards to you and your families on this sad occasion. Bea and Len Litsky

Message: Dear Betsy and Family, I met your mother when she started teaching at NBHS. Fortunately for me, we were not only colleagues but also friends. I have a vivid bouquet of memories of our academic explorations and personal experiences. Sylvia was a cherished gift that continuously unfolded during our shared time. How fitting it is to make a donation to the Hillary Clinton Campaign in your mother's memory. With Sympathy and Sadness, Fran Gallagher
