Message: When I entered the HPD Academy in 1964 Ben was the Commanding Officer. Ben was ahead of his time and on the forefront of the changing world of policing. As I advanced through the ranks Ben was always there with a good work or a good nudge. Through Ben I met several people in the community including the famous Manny at his Blue Hills Deli! During my tenure as Chief of the Dept. Ben would call or come and have coffee with me occasionally and share the wisdom of his life experiences .Ben was truly impacted by his war experience but in a way that made him a better person. He was a mentor to many and will be missed .He is probably already recruiting angels to his way of thinking. God speed on your journey my friend.,
