Message: Sam was a wonderful person who cared deeply for social justice; she was a pioneer in the LGBT rights movement, for which so many of us are in her debt. She had a great sense of humor, especially when it came to her beloved Philadelphia Eagles. She was literate on so many subjects from the Jewish mafia to photographic arts. From her hospital bed one of the last lessons she gave was on microfiber mop heads: her intelligence was very practical as well. She loved Eileen so much. She is so missed.

Message: Sam was a joyous free spirit up to the very end. She shared her love of life and put a unique spin on everything. I feel privileged to have known her and know that Passover Seders will never be quite the same even though I know she will be checking out the proceedings from above. She's up there with the many heroines she referenced in the Passover service. God speed.....

Message: Dear Eileen, We cannot be with you but please know we are thinking of you and holding you close in our prayers. We will miss Sam's laughter and her enjoyment of fine food and wine! She never failed to make us laugh with her absolute failure to take herself, or others for that matter, too seriously. She loved YOU and your life together and she made no bones about that at all. You were blessed to have her as your wife and partner in all things in ths life.
