Message: Dear Holly and Greg, Waiting until the "right words" come for such a memorable person as your mother is a recipe for no words at all! My former wife Mary Jo, children Peter and Christina, and I have all been immeasurably touched by your mother. As you know, my son Peter was the initial recipient of the French horn you mother generously donated to The Hartt School. (Peter returned it last summer so that another student may benefit) This is just the beginning of the story. Not only did Peter love the horn (thank you, Greg), but we all came to love your mother. We invited her to attend one of Peter's concerts at Hartt, and a great friendship began. Nona was absolutely delightful, and her loving interest in our lives was extraordinary. Not surprisingly, whenever possible we included her in attending Peter's concerts over a two-year period prior to his high school graduation. Her pride in each of you was always on display, and we came to cherish you at a distance. Our contact trailed off once Peter went to college, and I regret several false starts at visiting her despite having moved into Woodland House. I am so glad that I did see her at the pool occasionally and spoke by phone. None of us will every forget her or our good fortune in knowing her. We are better people for having benefited from her presence in our lives! Love from Greg, Mary Jo, Peter and Christina Andrews.

Message: Holly & Greg---Sadly, another Florence Nightengale has left us. Nona was truly a compassionate woman who listened and never was critical and knew how to get to the heart of the matter. I had the pleasure of working with your mother at the Apothecary Prescription Center and at Arrow. She had a following like no other on Wednesdays. Even though she had some personal problems she would struggle through the day so as not to disappoint. Over the years we kept in touch over lunch or at Christmas dinner. She was welcomed into our family. We will miss her. All our heartfelt sympathies. Richard & Andrea

Message: My condolences to Nona's family. I lived across the hall in 6K. Such a lovely lady and great neighbor. I loved sitting and talking to her, especially after I retired. She loved her family very much, her independence too. The blue "NONA" was always on the go.
