Message: i remember Irv well when i was growing up. He was kind of a 'cool' dad back then, with his Playboy subscription (thanks!!!!)and his love of music. he had awesome audio equipment i spent many hours with Marc and also Rick and his buddies listening to great tunes. the pool parties were great as well. Also, I will remember Irv's wry sense of humor.....he seemed to see the humor in most things.....a good lesson for all of us. my deepest sympathies to Marc and all the family, doug

Message: Back in the 1960s, Irwin's house was often the meeting place for his sons' friends. One night...probably around 12 or 1 in the morning, Steve and Rik and I were in their den enjoying the effects of a certain grass-like substance. We were listening to The Doors on Irwin's headset and we had the TV "on." Well, not exactly on, more like we were sitting there turning the color tuning knob and enjoying the range of colored snow that washed across the screen. (Ah, simple pleasures.) Irwin came downstairs to check out the noise and asked, "What are you doing?" Steve replied, "Watching TV." Irwin took one look at the TV and sized us up immediately. With a half-smile on his face he said, "Well, turn it off when you go to bed" and headed back upstairs. Forever after earning the sobriquet "cool dude" from us.

Message: Although we are at Chatfield for only a short time, in our mind the one word that best says what describes Irv, is "Mensch" A No nonsense person whom we were fortunate to have known. We will miss him. Saul and Fran Reichlin

Message: I was saddened to hear the news about Irv's passing. I have many memories from Carlyle RD that involved Irv and all the Lustig family. He was a wonderful friend and neighbor to our family and never said "no". When something needed to be fixed he was there ready to help. He was a great conversationalist and I enjoyed listening to his perspective on so many things. To Stephen, Richard, Mark and all the extended family my deepest condolences .You are all in my thoughts. Love, Lori Lynn

Message: Dear Rick, Marc, Steve and families, I have some warm memories of your Dad. He was pretty patient with teenage behavior. I know he was your hero, but he was a hero to all of us. It is really hard to lose the Greatest Generation. They sacrificed so much for us. Please accept my sincerest condolences. With Love, David and Jodi Glater
