Message: Dear Richard and Deborah; Your loving Mom was one of the first guests I got to know when I moved here 23 years ago. She was certainly one of my favorites and always a pleasure, with a kind word and certainly a stern word or two if needed! Was truly pleased when I got married and always asked about my kids. She will be missed, I am so sorry for your loss. Best wishes, Steven Abrams

Message: I will always remember the excitement of going to visit Aunt Paula and Uncle Charlie, both when I was a child going with my parents, and later, as an adult, asking for directions and having them contradict each other and each insist theirs was the best way to come. More recently, I kept in touch with Paula who loved to hear all about my family so she could comment on how happy my mother would be and how much she misses her. I will certainly miss Aunt Paula! Love, Janet

Message: Paula Polivy was present in my life from my earliest memories; her daily calls in the afternoon to my mother -- over decades! -- were a staple of our family life; our times when the Gross and Polivy families were together for family occasions was as well! At Loomis, I even called her one evening to read an essay on art history, since my Mother felt that her friend Paula was the world's foremost art expert and should hear the essay and offer me comments. She hosted a brunch for Liz and me in 1976 when we were married; she attended Zach's solo debut at Lincoln Center years later (rooming with my parents!); she gave a brilliant speech at my parents' 70th wedding anniversary party. She was an integral part of the Gross family's lives for decades. She was one of a kind, an amazing woman. We will miss her dearly. Sig and Liz Wissner-Gross

Message: I remember being very young, tagging after Karen and Carol and their friends - Dr. and Mrs. Polivy were always very welcoming to me. I also remember Dr. Polivy doing surgery on me when I later caught a softball with my face at Loomis. Karen, your mom and dad were such warm, lovely people and carried themselves with grace. My mom and I were talking about you and your mom just last week. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Message: Mrs. Polivy and Dr. Polivy always made me feel welcomed and embraced as one of Karen's friends. I will miss your Mom. I looked forward to seeing her when Karen visited...she gave me advice that I swear, would have been coming from my own mother and I appreciated that. You had wonderful parents, I have fond memories of Dr. Policy and I will miss your Mom.
