Message: Joan, David and Mark: Until last night I was unaware of Harv's passing. I am so sorry. So many memories of time with all of you--seems so long ago--but many of those moments helped to shape my life. Memories: Paying me to hang with David and Mark and find me asleep upon return with Joan (and then having me back multiple times);finding time to take me to Shakey's Pizza to see if he could help me focus on schoolwork; determining the best name for me was Mr. Misinformation (because he knew I was not always telling it as it was; driving me to Summer School after my sophomore year of High School because of such a poor report card; providing me with a job at American Seal's Asphalt plant where I learned so much; numerous rounds of golf at TCC where laughter was more important than the final score (at least sometimes--especially when there were too many salesmen in the group who did not stop talking), to lunches a couple of times at Spillin the Beans--where he shared how proud he was of his sons. And Joyce and Bailey Cadman will never forget Harv. Many social activities together and Harv's commitment to my brother Doug to start him on his career and provide such a great opportunity to learn and grow professionally. Men like Harv are rare. His battle with cancer handled so courageously and with such a positive attitude. I know that I will miss him much and will recall with love the time I spent with Harv and he spent with me. Not a better role model than Harvey Gross. Peace. Bruce

Message: Dear Joan Monique and I send our thoughts and prayers for a wonderful friend and a great competitor. It was not easy to be a competitor with a fellow that had such and outstanding personality and that was so good at his job. I was lucky that we were always in a slightly different market and did not have to test each day. When we did, Harvey always did it as a true Gentleman. In the end the fact that we always respected each other paid off, and when the time came, we worked together on some very good projects. I have deep respect for Harvey and the way he lived his life. I always felt, beyond his many abilities that one of his great strengths was his life with you Joan. I am so very sorry and have so much respect for you both. God will be very good to someone so honorable. Dick Cunningham

Message: Joan-you were such a great wife to Harvey. I know these past years have been difficult for you both, but you were loyal and steadfast and your sense of humor made everything a bit easier. I didn't know him well, but the few times we met, I know he was a special person, and I know that he was the love of your life, a truly good man. Sincerely, Gail Tallman

Message: Joan, Dave and Mark, Deepest condolences from all the Rooneys on Harvey's passing. He was a true privilege to know right from childhood, a warm, caring and kind gentleman with a wry sense of humor we got to see all through our formative years. Always quick to laugh and slow to anger (at least with me!) he was a great comfort to us when my Dad passed away. For that we are forever grateful. His spirit lives on in all of you and with the great memories he left to all of us. David, Kim, Caitlin, Megan and Devon Rooney

Message: Harv was a long time dear friend. I enjoyed playing golf with him over the years at TCC as well as having him out at Wolferts Roost. He was also a great customer when he was with Monsey Products. I always enjoyed his company and sense of humor. My son spent a fair amount of time with Harv over the past couple of years giving him golf lessons. Harvey was one of the good ones that will be sorely missed. My heart goes out to Joan and the family.
