Message: My dearest Marcia, who is one of the funniest women I know and has made me laugh so hard that my sides have ached - how I will miss you and your radiant spirit. You were a constant source of love and support to me in my career, and never failed to find loving (and extremely funny) words of comfort whenever I was in need (and at all other times too!). I bet God just couldn't wait to get you to heaven and I can see the frivolity and hilarity that is ensuing as a result of your joining the ranks upstairs! Godspeed dear friend. With love and gratitude to a stellar human being. Karen

Message: I first met Marcia in the mid 80s when I was her orientation leader when she entered Harvard as a doctoral student. She told me then that she thought we would be close friends, and she was right! I knew all about her, and she in turn knew all about me. We attended our first IECA conference together when we both decided to become consultants. We traveled to colleges together and then Marcia became the NLD expert and was such a value to her field. Had that not worked so well, she could have been a stand-up comic. Her humor always kept me laughing. I knew of all her illnesses, but with her strength, I somehow believed she would carry on. I will miss Marcia every day. I really loved being her friend.

Message: Marcia was an esteemed colleague and a friend. I met her in 1998 at a work shop she was presenting. Over the years I've marveled at her ability to write anything from a book to an email in a way that would make me read it over and over again. She was a member of a professional organization we both belong to and she was a mentor to me. My deepest condolences to her family and friends as well as her IECA Colleagues who will dearly miss her warmth and wit. Susan

Message: I've always been proud of my cousin Marcia and considered it an honor to be part of her extended family. Marcia always treated me with kindness and respect, despite the 8 year age difference, and I remember being so thrilled as a six year old that this wonderful teenager would let me hang out with her and talk to me like I was a contemporary. Marcia was brilliant, funny, compassionate and fascinating. I'm so happy I got to see her in August, when she looked so beautiful, happy and relaxed when we gathered to celebrate our cousin Greta's 90th birthday. I'll miss my cousin Marcia deeply, and regret she was taken to soon.

Message: I just found out that Marcia Passed Away and her funeral was today. It saddens me to lose a friend, a student, and women with great persona. I loved her sense of humor, her devotion to her work and very positive approach to life. Her suffering seemed to be a well kept secret, so I am sure the loss is that much more powerful. I met her as a former student at Brandeis and her Freshman Dean at Brandeis and we had a connection once we renewed are connection and she joined the IECA as a consultant. I had been early founder of the organization and I developed great confidence in her work and always enjoyed the times together at meetings. She was a remarkable woman, insightful, committed, and an advocate for children. I am sorry to see her pass. I wanted her children and family to know how powerful an example she was to those who knew her. With a sad heart, I wish each of you healing and great memories. Bob Kantar,REtired, SCC

Message: Marcia was so much more than a colleague. She was a dear friend and was always helpful when I was "stuck" on ideas for a client for schools or wanted some inside knowledge. She taught us so much. Thank you for sharing her with us. When I think of Marcia, I will remember her smile and her fashion sense! And we were with her when she went to buy her new puppy! Love, Louise Slater

Message: To Eytan and family: Marcia was one of the kindest, most caring, smartest and wittiest people I have known. As a fellow educational consultant, I had the privilege of getting to know her while trekking throughout the US and, sometimes, outside of it. She never ceased to bless me with her keen insights, unique perspective, and intuitive observations. But more than anything, I will miss Marcia's humor. And the love of shopping that we shared and so often indulged together. She could be intense, but she was also the consummate super-fun playmate! Marcia, I miss you already; and wherever you are, I hope there are some amazing boutiques nearby :-)
