Message: Dear Ruth and Bert, As I painted roses on her headboard and bedroom furniture, little Ellen sat on the floor watching, smiling,a happy girl with her mothers smile. Ruth would wander in with Andy, in her arms take a peek at us both...so much love, it overfilled the space. What a fortunate family to live that bond. My condolences to all who loved her and love you. Linda

Message: My husband and I are so sorry to hear of your loss. We got to know Ellen through Cub Scouts - our sons were in the same group and always got along very well; we also attended Temple Beth Shalom with her as well. She was always so friendly and you could tell how loving she was toward Jeffrey. Such a tragic loss.

Message: Although we’ve never met, my name is Jack Mento and I share your grief at this most sorrowful time. Ellen and I worked together at Combined Jewish Philanthropies. We had a wonderful working relationship and I owe Ellen an immense amount of gratitude for her mentoring and help while she worked at CJP. Ellen was a kind, generous and loving person. Her love for life was inspiring. We had many fun times together at work and at events outside of CJP. Ellen will always be part of my circle of friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this very difficult time but, be assured, she will be welcomed into heaven with open arms. God bless Ellen and her family. Message: I would like to remember Ellen first as a Mom and second as a colleague. Being a parent is a great honor and privilege - I hope Jeffrey can continue to hear stories from family and friends about his mother. I work for Reach Out and Read in Los Angeles, CA; Ellen and I only saw each other a handful of times over the period of a decade, yet I will remember her hearty laugh. She fought a brave battle. Please accept my sincere sympathies.

Message: My deepest sympathy to all of Ellen's family. As a fellow Tevya-e I am deeply saddened by the loss of a "family" member. Ellen was a bright light on a darkened day, always having a smile on her face and bringing happiness to everyone with whim she cam in contact. She was the epitome of what a camper should be and exemplified the spirit of camp in every task she undertook. She was a natural leader and highly respected by her peers as well as the rest of the Tevya community. I will be sure to say a special prayer for her at Tevya's 75th reunion on the 20th of this month. May her memory and her accomplishments be a blessing upon all of us.

Message: I only knew Ellen as a little girl who called her father's office one day to tell me she had saved up enough pennies from doing her chores that her daddy was going to take her to Friendly's to buy an ice cream cone! She was so proud of her accomplishment - a portent of things to come!!! I am so very sorry. My thoughts and condolences will be with the family.
