Message: Ellen and I worked together for many years at the Jewish Ledger. We had so much fun! She was always so upbeat. I admired her style, her funky jewelry and her grace. She loved to travel, especially to London, and she loved her friends. I will remember Ellen as a wonderful wife and mother--Moe and her sons were her world. A light has gone out for those of us who loved her.

Message: I used to work with Ellen at the Jewish Ledger. I'll never forget the fact that she saved me on my first day at the Ledger. It was the end of the work day, and most people had left the office. I had an allergic reaction, and she quickly took me to the local walk-in clinic to be treated. I was lucky to have known her. My condolences go out to her family and friends.

Message: Fieldston classmate. I am so sorry to hear of Ellen's passing. I have two especially fond memories. Each of our mothers took us, separately, to Williamsburg during spring vacation of 7th grade. We had a wonderful time getting to know each other. Had little contact throughout the rest of school, but at the 1989 reunion when I took the mike to thank everyone who had written to me during an extended recovery from nasty injuries, Ellen ran over and threw her arms around me, saying "I would have written if I'd known." And I really really knew that she would have. She was like that. I had hoped to see her again.
