Message: I had the honor of playing my harp each week for Mrs. Suisman at Duncaster and what a joy it was! Mrs. Suisman was an inspiration to me- not just because she lived such a long life, but because she knew HOW to live. Her gentle demeanor and graciousness were attached to a deep love of life, and that included first and foremost her beloved family. She told me endless stories of giving her sons music lessons, of her wonderful. loving family gathered around her at the Jewish holidays, of her time in Palm Springs, ( ( I will never forget her memory of meeting Frank Sinatra while dining with her husband there). She shared many memoires of her childhood and her friends when growing up. Mrs. Suisman always had the Books on Tape - it was always the one that I wanted to read next! She kept her mind sharp and her heart open,, continued to share of herself with others. There was always a candy to be offered and shared with her, or the Norrell, oh her stories of Norell! When she gave me a bottle of it, I knew that she was proclaiming still her love of people and the bond that she so easily made. She knew how to keep herself in a special place in our hearts, seemed the supremely loving and kind mother-figure for all. I will miss her greatly. I last played my harp for Mrs. Suisman on June 20th, 2013. Lucretia came running out to me as I took my small therapy harp out of my car. " Will you play for Mrs. Suisman today? My lady doesn't look well. " Lucretia , always calm, mentioned that she had been "wonderful" the day before, but today was not the same as all the other days. When I entered Mrs. Suisman's sunlit room , I was shocked to see her in bed. I realized that she NEVER was in bed and always was dressed and upright, impeccably groomed. Lucretia urged me to "do your magic, girl" as I closed the door and sat very close to play the music that Mrs. Suisman so loved. Innishere, Matilija, but other than moving her mouth gently and the color in her cheeks rising a bit, she seemed unroused, letting go, as gently as she had lived. I will always miss this loving vibrant woman who taught all of us so many lessons on living and loving. Duncaster will not be the same without her.

Message: My heartfelt condolences to the entire Suisman family over the loss of your remarkable mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Eddy was a great friend to my family -- my parents, Carol and Dutch Selwyn and my grandparents, Roz and Mike Elias. She was elegance personified, and also warmth and intelligence and kindness. She really made her mark in this world. Hers was truly a life to be celebrated and honored.
