Message: Aunt Grete was the wife of my father Albert's brother Uncle Irving. I remember Aunt Grete best in her home in West Hartford, Connecticut where I visited her in my youth. Aunt Grete loved her kitchen table where we sat to talk and eat cake or cookies. Aunt Greta's mother lived a long life ( close to 100 years) and stayed at Aunt Grete's home. I enjoyed both of them and can still see them together in their kitchen. Aunt Greta is the last member alive of that generation of my father's family. Each member always appeared to me as individuals to aspire to become. Aunt Grete was an excellent daughter, wife , mother and family member. May she rest in peace.

Message: Although I met Grete only in her later years at the Jewish Healthcare Center, I was impressed by her strength, dignity andpresence. I knew she was special after spending time with her daughters, grandsons and great grandsons. They were wonderful to her and set examples for generations to come. Grete had a long, remarkable life. She understood her roots and what she wanted to make of her life. She was an inspiration to her family and friends and I wish I had known her longer.
