Message: My heartfelt condolences to Rich, Vicki, Emily, Hannah and Julia upon hearing this sad news. I had the privilege of knowing Mr. Rosenthal through my work with the Max Restaurant Group. Al, as he was known to his friends, was a kind, patient and thoughtful man. He represented a generation where a gentleman was a gentleman in the truest sense of the word - classy, courteous and well-read. He was a terrific listener, too. Glad I had the opportunity to know him. Even gladder I could call him a friend. Sean Maloney

Message: During the twelve years I worked with Al Rosenthal I found him to be unfailingly a gentleman who maintained a healthy perspective on office matters.  He was a professional, but he was a humane and thoughtful person first and foremost.  Although it's been several years since I've seen him, I will miss him.

Message: Dear David, Rich, Ed, and families, please accept our sincere condolences on Al's passing. Anne and I didn't know him very long, but he was one of the finest men I have ever met, and his character was such that I felt like I had known him my entire life. He had a great love for you and spoke to me many times about that love, and his joy in your successes. I loved his sense of humor! Someone once said "God gave us memories so we would have roses in winter". I know you have a huge beautiful garden of them. May your blessings continue in his memory. Earle and Anne Stone

Message: I was sorry to learn of your dad’s passing. He was such a wonderful man whom I had the privilege of knowing for many years. He was always friendly and interested in what I was doing personally and professionally. I remember visiting my Uncle Yuddy, Aunt Ann and their children on Magnola Hill. The Shapiros and Rosenthals had adjacent backyards, which made a terrific place for all the youngsters to play. Your dad and Yuddy were such good friends and partners. I later worked part time at Shapiro, Rosenthal on Farmington Avenue many years ago and enjoyed the warm and stimulating environment they created there. Al was always positive and had such a warm smile. He touched many lives, and I am glad that I got to know him. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Harvey Shapiro
