Message: To the family of Marvin Ruzansky, on behalf of all of us at SUBVETS and me personally, I want to extend our sincere condolences on Marvin's passing. I enjoyed the times we would see him at the SUBVETS WWII Christmas parties, and the times we were able to chat when he would come to dinners at the clubhouse. His presence will be missed. I'm very sorry that the SUBVETS will not have a presence at his funeral. I am just seeing this at 07:05 this morning and I don't have sufficient time to put the word out and assemble our Honors Detail. "There is a port of no return where ships may ride at anchor for a little space. And then some starless night the cable slips leaving an eddy at the mooring place. Gulls veer no longer, Sailor rest your oar. No tangled wreckage will be washed ashore." HAND SALUTE SHIPMATE Marvin Ruzansky . . . Rest your oar! READY TWO John J. "Gumba" Carcioppolo Base Commander U.S. SUBVETS Groton Base

Message: Barbara and family, I just learned today, of your dad's passing. I am sorry for your loss. I noticed that he was just a year younger than my dad, but that your parents were married for 65 years, whereas mine only made it to 62 years. Both long marriages and deep losses. I read that you were by his side and helping to take care of him and I know that will give you comfort as the days go by. It is so hard to say good bye to someone who loved and protected us, but wonderful to have had such a loving dad.
