Message: I was so sad to read of Bernice's passing. I remember how kind she was to my mother, Carol Selwyn and what a good friendship they had. I also remember Bernice and Carol schlepping Jamie and I to summer school one year. She was a funny, down to earth, kind person who accomplished so much in her lifetime. It was obvious that family came first every day with her. These are such painful days, it is good you all have each other. My deepest condolences to you, Nancy, Jamie and Keith and your families.

Message: To Jamie and family, Bernice was a special woman, she was elegant and noble. I met Bernice on the urban renewal project that took place at upper Afula and Givaat Hamore. Bernice and her husband Bernie were some of the pillars of the project that connected the Jewish communities at Connecticut to the people living at upper Afula and Givaat Hamore. The project contributed to the development of the community and the society of the people of the neighborhood and to the physical development of the neighborhood. Among the rest, she helped to build a new library, a daycare center for the elderly, a youth center and a laundry center. She was also a part of the community centers renovations, the creation of community youth orchestra, the absorption of the Jewish Ethiopian immigrants , the community computer project and more. Bernice's contribution and support to the city of Afula will be forever remembered.

Message: dear Nancy, Jamie and Keith, I have just been told the sad news of your beloved mother Bernice passing away. Your mom was such a sweet woman and I know what a good time my beloved mom had with her. How lucky we all were to have such wonderful parents! I will never forget the time I lived in Israel and your parents and nancy stopped at my kibbutz to say hi while in Israel on a mission. Not only did you all stop to visit, (I remember your dad loved the pomegranate tree in back of my volunteer cabin) your parents brought back a can of peanuts packed on my kibbutz for my parents - so sweet and so very thoughtful! you all are in my thoughts and prayers - may Bernice rest in peace. love, Ruth (Selwyn-Stockinger)
