Message: I've known Eileen for many, many years, since we had a car pool for Sunday School and were neighbors. She was a very intelligent woman of many talents - a gracious lady. When she was at Jewish Family Service, she was a great help to those of us in JCSO who wanted to assist needy Jewish children. Lenny and I send our deepest sympathy to Bob and her entire family.

Message: My condolences to your entire family. I did not know Eileen, but I am a friend of her daughter Julia. May your mother, wife, grandmother, rest in peace and may her memory be a blessing to all of you. Before I go, I would like to share an interesting coincidence- Eileen and I share not only the same birthday (May 2), but also the same hebrew name!

Message: Our thoughts and prayers are with you all in this time. I remember when I first got my license, last century, and wanted to drive to the prom but did not have a car. Eileen was gracious enough to offer to let me drive her car (with her in it of course). Those were the days before power steering so it required some force to make turns. After picking me up, we proceeded to piclk up my date. With the three of us in the car, I drove to the school. On the first turn, I turned the steering whell and gave it some gas, as we had learned in drivers ed. Too much gas and we squeeled around the corner. I still remember the scream Eileen let out as we settled into the straightaway. Guess she was not as relaxed as she thought. We laughed about it many years later. She will be missed. Love Rick.

Message: Dear Bob, Julie, Andy and Ricky. I need to let you know, that I arose early on August 30th and started in with my routine, and I thought of your mother... for a long while. I thought, I really need to let her know how nice it was to see her on May 5th while she was in Hartford Hospital. I wondered how she was feeling with the change of the seasons... I did not hear the news until later on that morning. Your mom was already an angel, whispering thoughts in my head. I have visions of her sitting with dad up in heaven reminiscing about happy times we've had together. Love to everyone of you at this very difficult time ... Please contact me if you would like to talk. Susie will be there on Wednesday, representing the Springer Family. Love to all. Dana Springer Poirier

Message: Dr. Rosson, I just want to extend my sympathy to you on the passing of Eileen. Although we were together for a brief moment while making a long-term care nursing assessment, you and Eileen have been in my thoughts and prayers on almost a daily basis. I learned of Eileen's death yesterday from Debbie Shulansky who I have known for many years and who is my nursing partner for health fairs and flu clinics. I had no idea that Eileen was John's aunt. May your heart be filled with the loving memories of Eileen. Thinking of you. Debra Rostowsky

Message: Dear Bob, Our deepest condolences to you and your family. We have such fond memories of Eileen and the gracious, fun-loving person she was. Our time together in China was an experience we cherish fondly. Elieen's wit, humor and warmth helped to make this trip an event of a life time for our family especially, Amy. We know you will truly miss her, but live with the wonderful memories she left you with. You were blessed to be with a woman who enriched not only your life, but those of countless others. Again our sincere sympathy, JoAnne and John Panicek

Message: Dear Family of Eileen, My memory goes way back in our young lives; perhaps as far as junior high. And I remember a very lovely, sweet girl who was a friend to all. And then I met her 2 years ago at the super market and we talked and could not believe how fast the time has passed. My sympathy to all. Elaine Kaufmann

Message: Dear Bob, Julie, Andrew and Richard and all the family: We send belatedly our deepest sympathy. I--John speaking here--found Eileen to be a point of light, inspiration, ironic good humor, and deep love for LC and all its people. Working with her--and you, Bob, as well--was always a joy and a reassurance. Your loss is great; the power of her life and love for you all and all her friends is taken up into God and is lasting here on earth. With great affection, Lou and John Ratte
