Message: We can thank Allan's uncle for making us send that tape home from California. It was when my uncle Irv went to Freda's house to hear the tape that he first met Freda. And it only(??) took 7 years for him to marry her and make her our aunt - the same month that we were married. But it didn't take that long for Freda to became part of our family, She showed her incredible love and spirit everytime we were together. She travelled 150 miles to see our babay daughter for the first time back in 1981. Even though they were half a country apart she was so much like a grandmother to her that Sandra didn't hesitate to ask her to walk down the aisle with her "other" grandmother at her wedding. And even as her health was declining she insisted on making the trip to Houston for our son-in-law's conversion to Judaism. We'll never forget all of the wonderful times we spent together. We love her and will miss her forever.

Message: Mrs. Bernstein was the best neighbor you can ever have, 10 years ago when we moved to 57 Northbrook Drive, she was the first and last person to come to our new home welcomed us to the neighborhood. She was always informative and helpful. One day she asked me my heritage, when we told her that we are Eritreans (previously Ethiopia) and spoke about the Falasha (Black Ethiopian Jews) she went to a book store and bought a book to read about our heritage. We are going to miss her. May she rest in peace and our condolence to David , Allan and Family. Your Neighbor The Hadis Family.

Message: David and Allan, I was so saddened to learn of the passing of your mother. I really enjoyed being Freda's companion for the two years I spent with her; sitting at the kitchen table talking over tea and your mom's favorite vanilla Oreo cookies. Take comfort from one another; my thoughts are with you and your family. Shelley Kamins
