Message: Roz would be so proud of me using the computer to send you my memories & condolences. I am a computer instructor for the SeniorNet program at the Mandell JCC in West Hartford. Roz & I both served on the initial volunteers committee, receiving training to instruct & coach senior students, many of whom had never touched a computer or had retired before computers came into their workplace. By the second lesson, Roz was asking, "When are we going to get on the Internet?" She wanted to look up art exhibits at museums in New York City. So, while the others were listening to the instructor, away we went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to peruse their current offerings. Roz spoke of sitting out on the museum's front steps when she was a young girl...I think she told me she'd been a Girl Scout & an accomplished pianist. (We also checked the Guggenheim & MOMA sites.) It was so refreshing to experience her interest & enthusiasm for using this new technology. Later we shared water exercise classes in the pool & chair exercises in the exercise studio. It has been an inspiration to me to meet & make friends at the JCC with so many older women who are committed to staying active physically & mentally. I am so sorry to read of Roz's passing and will remember her fondly. I will miss her, along with you, her family and send my deepest sympathy in your loss. Joanne Coghill
