Message: To the family: Being a part of Steve's life for 8+ years has made a lasting impression upon me. He was a good, kind, and loving man. He made me a stronger and better person for having loved him. I was able to know Steve in a much more personal way than some. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of his family in your time of grief. Please accept my condolences.

Message: I served with Steve, or "Ski" as he was called, in the US Navy. We arrived from Radar schools around the same time and advanced from RDSN's to second class Radarmen [RD2} together. Steve was a great shipmate, both onboard in CIC and ashore, as an ambassador in foreign countries. I have been trying to reconnect with Steve for years. We lost touch after we were transferred to different destroyers when the USS N.K. Perry DD883 was scheduled for decommisioning[1970]. I am so sorry for the families loss; and that I didn't find him until now. I am willing to share sea stories with any of the family that would like to fill the gaps of his honorable military service.
