Message: Gene. my condolences to you and your family on the death of your mother. It's been so long since the Maplewood Avenue, W.H., days, that you may not even remember me. That's fine. The Leekoff family rented the second floor at 27 Maplewood Avenue, two houses down from yours, for a number of years. I remember your mother sitting in front of your front door on many nice days, while my family walked to the corner to mail a letter or further, a bit east along Farmington Avenue, to Stoughton's (drug store) to have an ice cream treat at the soda fountain. Do you remember the days when drug stores had a counter, freezers, spigots and dispensers in part of the store for ice cream and soda treats, freshly made on the spot like Friendly's ice cream today? The times I remember were in the late 1950s and early to mid-1960s. I hope you and your family have many fond memories to share of your mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. Shalom, Deborah
