Message: As a Square Dance Caller,my wife Helen and I have many fond memories during the times we danced with Carl and Freda. In the 1980's Carl and Freda would drive to Manchester every Tuesday morning to dance at the Senior Center where I was calling. They also voluteered to be part of the group when we entertained at hospitals or nursing homes. Our condolences to Carl and his family. Sincerely John and Helen Provini

Message: I remember mostly from my childhood the visits from the Balks to my Grandmother's house on Firglade Avenue in Sprngfield. My memory is full of warm times and lots of family love. Over the years our family has drifted away as we each venture into our own paths. My wife and I extend our thought to you and yours during this difficult time.

Message: Both of us fondly remember Freda at Beth El's Friday night services as well as an occasional "bumping into" in Bishops Corner. She was always smiling and full of energy. She loved to talk about her extended family, especially all the great-grandchildren, and visiting her family. She was an inspiration to everyone who met her.

Message: Dear Mr. Balk, Merle and family, I was very sad to read in the paper about the passing of your wife, mom, and grandma. I guess it has been a while since I've seen your mom and dad together, but I still remember the flower shop on Woodland Street. They were a very lovely couple, friendly and always smiling when together. I hope Mr. Balk is doing well and please accept my sympathy on your loss. Elaine Fruchtman Kaufmann

Message: To Mr. Balk, Myrle B. Goodman and husband, Robert, Freda Balk's grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and most especially to Idylle B. Patz and partner Larry Guyer. Idylle, I knew you best of your family and we were friends when we all lived on Maplewood Avenue, W.H. My eyes were immediately drawn to the Balk name when I read the obituary page, sadly, late Friday afternoon and realized I had missed the service for her. Please know my heart and my condolences go out to all of Freda Balk's loved ones. Surely, wonderful memories of her will enrich the minds and hearts of all her loved ones and friends. Shalom. Deborah Leekoff
