Message: A farewell to a colleague and friend who exemplified a pursuit for intellectual excellence and knowledge and an acerbic and quick wit and a disarming love for people, Westminister terriers, sports and golf, food and travel. May he always know God's grace and affection.

Message: I remember many, many times hanging out with Marleen, my BFF back in High School and her little brother Jay was always around. Although I never knew him as a man, he was a tall, lanky kid so I can see how basketball became a passion for him. My deepest sympathies to Marleen, and the entire family and community who was touched by his passing.

Message: I am selfishly saddened for Jays passing as I will miss his humor and counsel. On the other hand I am happy that his suffering is over and he is at rest. Jay hired me as a brand new underwriter in 1990 and gave me the opportunity at a career that has been very fruitful and challenging. My family and I were blessed that Jay Podorowskys life crossed our path. May God Bless Jay's family now in their time of mourning.

Message: I worked with Jay for a number of years. The Energy division was like family. We were young, strong and vital. Jay was an important part of that team and helped it be successful. I have been so saddened by his long journey with his dibilitating illness. I am glad to find him at rest and at peace, at last.

Message: I came to know Jay in 2001 when my husband, George Lonquist, and I moved to CT in preparation for George to assume his new position as Starr Tech Branch Manager in Hartford. Jay immediately became a friend. From attending our annual Super Bowl parties, to joining us on sailing jaunts on the Sound, we always enjoyed Jay's adventurous spirit and his sardonic sense of humor. George and I will remember him and miss him-- not only during our parties and outings -- but always.

Message: It was my great pleasure to work with Jay on a training project in 2008. His underwriting mastery was exceeded only by his good wit and friendliness throughout the project. I am glad to have known Jay even briefly, and am saddened by his passing. May his family and friends be lifted up by their love of this unique and treasured man.

Message: Throughout my entire career in insurance, I never learned as much from one person as I did from Jay. He had an incredible ability to teach based on his own vast experience and elephant-like memory. I will always remember his words when I would ask him a question - he would answer "what does the policy wording say?" - words that have forever guided me in the right direction. On the personal side, he was a good friend and compatriot and will be greatly missed.
