Message: Girls, I am so sorry for the loss of your father. There are so many memories I have of him when I would take my walks down to the store to "pick up a few things" for Mom. It was such a nice family atmosphere there that I never wanted to go home. Both your dad and your Uncle Julius were always there to help even after I was out on my own and living close enough to do my shopping at "the corner". I remember when you came into the store to help out, maybe not willingly but you came, and we would laugh and have fun. You would even let me help, once in a while! The Corner isn't at all like it used to be. I don't even like to go up to Wethersfield anymore since most of the family is no longer there, especially the ones I love. The houses are gone and the building that has taken place just leaves such a sad spot in my heart until I think of the way it used to be! Love to all, Nina

Message: I have lots of memories of my parents shopping at Wolcott hill market, and especially the rivalry between Morris and Julius with my father. He always took a grapes off the display, and they gave him a hard time. We shopped in the early afternoon on saturdays, and the Yankees would always win, and the Red Sox would always lose. They gave my dad a super hard time about that. It was so great to have a small grocery store where you knew everyone. We live in Rocky hill now, and the quality of store they had is a thing of the past, but a great memory of my childhood. They were both great gentlemen.
